Electrically Insulated cylindrical roller bearings

Electrically Insulated cylindrical roller bearings have outer ring coating, inner ring coating and ceramic material rolling elements. Because of the higher cost of using ceramic material rolling elements, in most cases, the inner ring or outer ring 50-200 μm is used. Thick ceramic coating. The first two coatings are plasma spraying method to coat ceramic material on the bearing surface. This coating still maintains its insulation performance in a humid environment. The ceramic material rolling element insulated bearing is the rolling element. Using ceramic materials, it has excellent current resistance capability.

These three methods can make the cylindrical roller bearing achieve the effect of insulation, so that the bearing will not be damaged by current during operation, and it can resist the electric flashover generated under 1000V voltage. The thicker coating can resist the high voltage above 1000V. Discharge.

Electrically insulated bearings can avoid damage caused by electrical corrosion, so compared with ordinary bearings, they can be used in motors to ensure more reliable operation. Compared with other insulation methods, such as shaft or housing insulation, it is more cost-effective and reliable. The outer dimensions and basic technical characteristics of insulated bearings are the same as those of non-insulated bearings, so they can be 100% interchanged.

Normally Cylindrical roller bearings are available in a wide range of designs, series, variants and sizes. The main design differences are the number of roller rows and the inner/outer ring flanges as well as cage designs and materials.

Single row cylindrical roller bearings have NU, NJ, NUP, N, RNU type, as well as the complete single row cylindrical roller bearings, cylindrical roller bearing without outer ring etc. Cylindrical roller bearings are also available in sealed or split designs. In sealed bearings, the rollers are protected from contaminants, water and dust, while providing lubricant retention and contaminant exclusion. This provides lower friction and longer service life. Split bearings are intended primarily for bearing arrangements which are difficult to access, such as crank shafts, where they simplify maintenance and replacements.

And different types of cylindrical roller bearings also have their different design according to their feather, and also many kinds of cages, just like Brass cage, Pressed Steel cage, nylon cage etc.

So insulated cylindrical roller bearings also have above mentioned characteristic with normal cylindrical roller bearings. The bearings can meet the challenges of applications faced with heavy radial loads and high speeds. Accommodating axial displacement (except for bearings with flanges on both the inner and outer rings), they offer high stiffness, low friction and long service life.

Cylindrical roller bearings with up to three times longer service life than the previous CoatMaster (China Bearing manufacturer, Top Quality standard), which is superior to all other conventional cylindrical roller bearings. The performance improvements of CoatMaster (China cylindrical roller bearings) over the past 15 years have permitted downsizing, whilst still maintaining the required performance.

FAG Current insulated bearings for traction motor

FAG Current insulated bearings can prevent the effect of stray current. Insulated bearing combines bearing function and insulation performance in the solution, so it is more cost-effective than other insulation methods.

With a unique coating process, a layer of aluminum oxide is coated on the surface of the inner or outer ring of the bearing, so that it has the insulation ability and is not affected by high temperature, moisture and chemicals. The performance and running accuracy of the bearing are the same as that of the standard uninsulated bearing, and no additional installation measures are required.

The traction motors are equipped with an FAG NU215E.TVP2.J20A insulated cylindrical roller bearing at the drive end (floating bearing) and an FAG 6215M.C3.J20A insulated deep groove ball bearing at the opposite end (locating bearing).

Both bearings are protected against damage from current sparkover by an oxide ceramic coating (> 0.2 mm thick).

Bearing life The traction motor bearings were designed for a theoretical mileage of more than 2 million kilometers. Drive unit The Combino drive unit consists of: motor, brake disk, spring-loaded brake, motor-gear coupling, bevel gearing, quill shaft, wheel-gear coupling. Each wheel is driven via a quill shaft with two rubbermetal couplings. Current insulation/coating, in general Current insulated bearings prevent damage from current sparkover in the event of potential gradients between the rotor and stator of an electric motor. The oxide ceramic coating, which was applied by means of plasma spraying, features a hardness of > 2000 HV. It is wear-resistant and a good heat conductor. With the J20A coating, the disruptive voltage with direct current is > 1000 V
