Spherical Roller Thrust Bearings are the same with spherical roller bearing, both of them are all self-aligning design, the raceway surface of the seat is a sphere which centered on a point and be coincident with the center axis of the bearing. and also the rollers of Spherical Roller Thrust Bearings are spherical, Therefore, it has self-aligning function, Less sensitive to concentricity and shaft deflection.

Thrust roller bearings are used to support axial and radial combined loads with axial loads, but radial loads must not exceed 55% of axial loads. Compared with other thrust roller bearings, this type of bearing has lower friction factor, higher speed and has self-aligning performance.

The roller of the 29000 type spherical roller thrust bearing is an asymmetrical spherical roller, which can reduce the relative sliding of the roller and the raceway during operation, and the roller has a long length , a large diameter, a large number of rollers, a high load capacity , and is usually oil lubricated . Individual low speed conditions can be lubricated with grease. When designing and selecting, it should be preferred;

Advantages of Spherical Roller Thrust Bearings

  • Higher performance bearingarrangements: more than double the rating life due to basic dynamic load ratings that are up to 30 % higher than before , higher static load safety factor due to basic static load ratings nearly 10 % higher, reduced wear due to improved surface quality and optimum lubricant film formation, higher speed capability due to reduced friction and operating temperature as well as special cage designs.

This is all made possible by longer rolling elements, optimised contact geometry and bearing kinematics, improved surfaces of the rolling contact partners for an optimised lubricant film, cages with better guidance of rollers and lubricant as well as closer dimensional and running tolerances.

What is the miniature thrust ball bearings?

Miniature Thrust Ball Bearings are only one kinds of Thrust Ball Bearings, But smaller size than normally thrust ball bearings, It’s a separable bearing with a contact angle of 90, which can be installed separately and can only bear the axial load. The limit speed of the miniature one-way thrust bearing is low, and the steel ball is squeezed to the outside of the raceway by centrifugal force, which is easy to be scratched, but it is not suitable for high-speed operation. One-way miniature thrust bearing can bear one-way axial load, and two-way bearing can bear two-way axial load. Miniature Thrust ball bearing with spherical seat ring has self-aligning performance, which can eliminate the influence of installation error.

Miniature thrust ball bearings are designed to withstand thrust loads during high-speed operation, and it consist of a washer-like ferrule with a ball-rolling raceway groove. Since the ferrule is in the form of a seat cushion, the thrust ball bearing is divided into two types: flat seat cushion type and self-aligning spherical seat cushion type. In addition, this bearing can withstand axial loads, but not radial loads.

Miniature thrust ball bearing structure: The material of the bearing retainer is divided into stainless steel and copper, and the material of the plane thrust ball bearing is bearing steel or stainless steel, which is divided into with groove and without groove.

The use of miniature thrust ball bearings: It is only suitable for parts that bear an axial load on one side and have a low speed, such as crane hooks, vertical water pumps, vertical centrifuges, jacks, low-speed reducers, etc. The shaft washer, seat washer and rolling elements of the bearing are separated and can be assembled and disassembled separately.
